Wismar, our Protection Layer Pontoon (PLP) for Femern A/S, securely docked at our Danish harbour is now gearing up for sea trials.
Once the tunnel elements are immersed to a depth of approximately 40 meters underwater, Wismar will install a protection rock layer to safeguard the upper part of the tunnel structure from potential maritime hazards such as ship anchors falling or dragging.
Equipped with two rock holds, our PLP is capable of storing 1100 m3 of rocks and materials essential for its protective functions.
