Yesterday, His Majesty King Frederik X of Denmark officially inaugurated the first tunnel element of the Fehmarnbelt Link by Femern Link Contractors (FLC) for Femern A/S at our construction site; marking a historic day in the construction of what will be the world’s longest immersed tunnel.
During the ceremony, His Majesty met some of our apprentices, including Andreas Madsen, who made a speech highlighting the importance of vocational education for the future workforce and the project itself.
The inauguration also featured the unveiling of a memorial plaque and a time capsule, which will be sealed and buried near the tunnel’s entrance as a greeting to future generations.
We are honoured to have H.M. King Frederik X participate in the inauguration of the first tunnel element.
This milestone is a testament to innovation and collaboration across countries.
